What Is OST File?
OST is your offline folder in MS Outlook. These files make possible for Outlook to be used even in offline mode and to sync automatically when connected to the internet. It is used in Exchange environment by using MS Exchange server. This feature enable users to read, compose, delete and even reply to emails that too in offline mode.
What Is PST File?
Whereas PST files or also known as Personal Storage Table and is not used in MS Exchange server. As mentioned earlier, it is stored on servers except Exchange server and on users hard disk. IMAP and even HTTP use PST file folders. So emails that are sent or received and attached to them are stored in PST format. Even your emails, calendars, journals, contacts and other mailbox items which are locally stored is also saved in .pst format.
Convert OST to PST.
Login to Outlook with the Exchange account that was used to create the OST files. And to export the OST mailboxes to PST, follow the simple procedure:
1. Go to Files >Open & Export and click Import & Export.

3.Select the second option-Outlook Data File (.pst)-and click Next.

4.Select the folder which you want to export and click Next.

5. Browse the location where you want to save the new PST file and choose the options regarding the duplicate items.
